The Alpha 7 CD player topped the UK sales charts
for three years* and has a long list of awards from the UK and
internationally, including What Hi-Fi? Best Buy in 1996 and 1997. Its successor, the Alpha 7SE CD player
set new standards for sound quality at
the price and fully lives up to its special edition status.
Continuing the tradition the original Alpha 7 cd player set,
the Alpha 7SE won What Hi-Fi? Product of the Year award
in 1999 and 2000.
The 7SE uses a latest generation 24 bit DAC from Burr Brown
and also features lower jitter levels and improved power supplies.
Arcam has added an optical digital ouput to cater for the
increasing use of minidisc recorders in addition to the standard
co-axial digitial output. The overall sound quality is exceptional
for a player at its price. The 7SE maintains the upgrade capability
of the the Alpha CD players; the units can be upgraded all
the way to the state of the art perfomance of the Alpha 9
CD.
The sound quality of Arcam's latest CD player has been honed
during extensive listening tests and has benefited from the
fine tuning skills of one of the most experienced development
teams in the hi-fi industry. The 7SE has been described by
all who have heard it as incredibly detailed, precise and
powerful with a huge sound stage. What Hi-Fi? describe it as being "...blessed
with a notable command of rhythm and dynamics, which brings
music to life."
